I.  Find all of the verbs in the following sentences. Tell whether they are transitive or intransitive, regular or irregular.  Also indicate any auxiliary verbs.

  1. Where shall a man go to avoid pain and sickness?
  2. If thine enemy hungers, feed him. If he thirsts, give him drink.
  3. Can you bind the sweet influences of the Pleiades or loose the band of Orion?
  4. I impeach him in the name of the English nation, whose honor he has sullied.
  5. Far as the breeze can bear, the billows foam,
    Survey our empire, and behold our home.

II. Write five sentence using regular transitive verbs and five sentences using irregular transitive verbs. Indicate the verb and its object in each sentence using the following model.
Barry White has created a great book. (regular and transitive)
Linda Gray has written a great book.  (irregular and transitive)

III. In the same way, write five sentences containing regular intransitive verbs and five sentences containing irregular intransitive verbs.
